The Core Issue
There are ideologies (for example, homeschooling) that completely reject the school system claiming it to be redundant and ineffective. Hundreds of books and TED talks are available today on this theme. Outright rejection isn’t fair for the simple reason that all of us reading these lines are a product of the same schooling system.
The core issue is – So many experts, authors, speakers; but no one has been able to come up with a scalable solution for the problems that children, parents and even schools are facing.
The Situation Is BAD!
- REJECTION – There are ideologies (for example, homeschooling) that completely reject the school system claiming it to be redundant and ineffective. Hundreds of books and TED talks are available today on this theme. Outright rejection isn’t fair for the simple reason that all of us reading these lines are a product of the same schooling system.
- UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS – Parents expect school to function like a magic box, turning their wards to super-stars in academics, conduct, extracurricular and for competitive exams
- EXCESSIVE DEPENDENCE ON TECHNOLOGY – School administrators have fresh memories from the recent pandemic that exposed much-needed dynamic readiness in the school system. In addition, failure of devices like BYJUs proved that technology is NOT the solution for education.
It’s bad and unscientific. It hurts schools, parents, kids; and it hurts the future of the nation.
What’s The Missing Link?
After years of DKC and the clients conducting research and surveys together, we have identified three areas of action upon the missing links; the missing links being –
- INVOLVEMENT OF PARENTING – Parents as well as schools need to accept that the child is a product of the environment back in her family. Just like a grand car is not good without air-conditioner; schooling system alone is incomplete without a parallel framework for parenting.
- SYSTEM FOR MENTORIONG – A system based upon expectation management and role clarity can do wonders. The 3C School system has an in-built design for both. This gets parents to participate methodically.
- THE ELEMENT OF HUMAN LEARNING – A deep integration of human learning with mentoring shall make the child a natural (curious) learner.
